His long legs and deep chest give him the endurance to hunt sunup to sundown, slipping in tight for grouse or pushing out deep to lock up on quail. Yet at home, he’s a calm, affectionate old soul—content to spend the evening at your feet. 

Rye is all grit and heart—a compact, stout hunting machine with a prey drive that doesn’t quit. Built for tough conditions, her thick coat lets her thrive in late-season waterfowl hunts, where she retrieves confidently no matter the weather. In the uplands, she’s a careful, calculated pheasant dog, tracking and matching roosters with unwavering determination. Off the field, she’s a warm, affectionate family companion who absolutely adores children.
